​DEALERSHIP’S HEART IS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

South Shields-based motor retail firm Vic Young (South Shields) Ltd has been shortlisted for the Heart of the Community Award and Services Award at the 2016 North East Business Awards. The company will compete in the regional final for Durham, Sunderland and South Tyneside, which will take place at Ramside Hall Hotel on Thursday 17 March.

The highly anticipated regional awards honours the cream of the North East business community and celebrate excellence in 13 categories, ranging from innovation and manufacturing to export and newcomer of the year.

The family-run business is a main dealership for Mitsubishi in Tyneside. Its portfolio includes Vic Young Mobility and Vic Young Conversions, which develops unique conversions for specialist vehicles, including those for full Motability Approval.

The Services Award recognises companies that have demonstrated service excellence, differentiation and business growth. Vic Young (South Shields) Ltd are an impressive example of a company who has worked meticulously hard to ensure that the buying process is a positive experience and also as simple as possible for their customers.

The Heart of the Community Award celebrates excellence in corporate, social and ethical activity. The firm has been a champion of the local community in South Tyneside and the wider North East through their 40 years in business and has supported a number of charities, staff and private individuals.

Vic Young will be the main sponsor at St Clare’s Hospice Sporting Evening which will take place on Friday 4 March at the Hedworth Hall, South Shields. The evening will help raise vital funds for patient care at the hospice which supports people with terminal and life limiting illnesses living south of the Tyne. The hospice needs to raise around £1.4 million per year to continue supporting patients and their families.

Sunderland AFC legends Peter Reid and Kevin Ball will be the special guest speakers at the fundraising dinner where they will share stories of their glory days.
