​VIC YOUNG CELEBRATED FOR ITS COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY

South Shields based motor retail firm Vic Young (South Shields) Ltd is celebrating after winning the Heart of the Community trophy at the North East Business Awards regional final for Durham, Sunderland and South Tyneside. The awards took place on Thursday evening (17 March 2016) at Ramside Hall Hotel.

The highly anticipated regional awards ceremony honours the cream of the North East business community and celebrates excellence in 13 categories, ranging from innovation and manufacturing to export and newcomer of the year.

Vic Young, a family-run business established more than 40 years ago provide a broad spectrum of vehicles for sale, rent and short-term hire as well as fleet management services, servicing and MOTs. Their portfolio also includes a specialist Motability division, Vic Young Mobility, which supplies cars, adaptations and wheelchair accessible vehicles, and Vic Young Conversions, which develops unique conversions for various specialist vehicles including those for full Motability approval.

Over the last four decades, Vic Young has been a champion of the local community in South Tyneside and the wider North East and has supported a number of charities and private individuals. For example they recently provided four vehicles to St Clare’s Hospice in Jarrow - a box van, transit van, mini-bus and wheelchair accessible vehicle.

The firm are also a sponsor of Bede’s World in Jarrow, Westoe Rugby Club and Horsely Hill boxing club. Along with junior football teams on Wearside and Newcastle, through the Russell Foster Tyne and Wear Youth League.
