VIC YOUNG SUPPORT MACMILLAN CANCER RESEARCH

On Friday October 7, Vic Young held a fundraising day on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support, who provides support, training and advice to cancer sufferers and their loved ones.

Vic Young employees made and bought cakes to be sold from the showroom which was decorated with Macmillan bunting. The team offered free teas and coffees and asked for a donation for the cakes, raising a total £200 for Macmillan’s cancer research.

A generous donation was made from Penshaw Nurseries who took two boxes of homemade cakes for their staff.

Vic Young, managing director of Vic Young, said “I am passionate about supporting charities and the local community, it is something that is very close to my heart, so I am proud that we could contribute to Macmillan’s fundraising efforts.”

“Cancer is a disease which touches the lives of so many, and I believe people need to support the organisation which help those in need.

This is an ethos I live by and for over twenty years we have supported charities such as St Clare’s Hospice and St Oswald’s Hospice.”

Over the last four decades, Vic Young has been a champion of the local community in South Tyneside and the wider North East, supporting and fundraising for numerous businesses, charities and private individuals.

This commitment to the region was recognised at the North East Business Awards 2016 grand final where the firm was awarded the Heart of the Community award.
