A big shout out to the young referees as well - 11 of them have received their Vic Young Young Match Official caps for refereeing more than 5 games.
The report reads as follows:
"The Sport England target for Nov 2018 – Nov 2019 (completion date extended with permission of Sport England) was 84 boys and an aspirational target of 44 girls – a total of 128. To date the actual figures are 208 – 40 girls and 168 boys. (This brings our total of YMOs over the life of the programme to in excess of 250). To date 25 schools have been involved in the programme and 39 Young Match Officials have been in charge of games."
We are extremely proud of the teams' this year for all their hard work and are anticipating another successful year in 2020.
In other positive news: The ERFSU have recognised the relationship between Durham Schools' and our Young Match Officials programme as a ‘Model of Good Practice.’
