Mitsubishi models help put Vic Young in the fast lane
Motor retail firm Vic Young (South Shields) Ltd has marked its first anniversary as a Mitsubishi dealer by announcing a phenomenal year of sales in new cars.
Since officially becoming Tyneside’s flagship Mitsubishi dealership in September 2014, the South Shields-based dealership has exceeded Mitsubishi’s sales target by 74% and has also recorded an impressive 97% customer satisfaction rate for the service it provides.
As business has increased over the past year, Vic Young has taken on 14 new members of staff, including a fleet sales executive, a fleet telesales executive, customer service support and vehicle technicians to support demand.
As part of its commitment to customer service, Vic Young has also invested £450,000 in a new service centre, featuring 14 workshop bays, each with a lift, and advanced equipment including an ECU unit to diagnose defects. The new service centre has led to shorter waiting times for customers, enabling the firm to provide an even greater level of vehicle care.
The Mitsubishi brand has heavily promoted its vehicles over the past year, and launched a number of new models including the L200 Series 5 and more recently the new Outlander PHEV which is the UK’s best-selling plug-in hybrid. This innovative and cutting-edge approach to its car designs demonstrates the company’s understanding of what today’s motorists desire and has opened up new markets for the Vic Young, including the healthcare and agricultural sectors.
Managing director Vic Young, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the motor trade, said: “Taking on the Mitsubishi franchise was an exciting step for the business and I’m happy to say it has been very successful for us. It’s fantastic that both existing and new customers have really bought into the brand and this has led to our resounding success.
“The L200 is the biggest selling 4x4 pick-up in the UK and it is fantastic to see that Mitsubishi are continuing to demonstrate their commitment to innovation in the 4x4 sector. While the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – revamped for 2016 – gives drivers the space and utility of a full-size SUV with running costs so low that they show up even the tiniest city cars. And I think the new ASX for 2016, promises to be just as successful as its predecessors.”
